How This Poultry Cage Feeder Tray Is Fabricated and Checked

A feed tray for a poultry house is a hygiene product as much as a metal one. The requirement is that feed does not lodge anywhere the tray cannot be cleaned, and that the tray survives being handled and stacked hundreds of times a year.

StageWhat happensWhat is verified before the job moves on
BlankingTray blank laser cut from 1.0 mm SUS304, with the corner radii and the edge allowance includedBlank size and the corner radii. A tray with a tight internal corner is a place feed collects and a brush cannot reach
Press brake formingTray sides formed, with radiused internal corners and a formed rimSide angles, tray depth and the internal radius, held to the tighter tolerance this part is normally specified at
TIG weldingCorners TIG welded and dressed so the internal corner is a continuous surfaceWeld penetration and the internal finish. A corner that is tacked rather than welded leaves a crevice that holds moisture and feed residue
Edge and weld dressingAll edges and welds dressed smooth, including the rim the bird feeds overThat no edge is left sharp. The rim is in contact with the birds, so a dressed edge is a welfare and hygiene requirement rather than a cosmetic one
ElectropolishingThe tray is electropolished after weldingSurface condition, and that the weld heat tint is removed. The tint is a corrosion site on a part that is washed and disinfected daily
Dimensional checkTray dimensions and nesting checkedInternal dimensions and how trays stack, because a tray that nests too tightly is a handling problem rather than a dimensional one
PackingTrays nested or individually bagged to the order requirementThat the trays do not jam in the stack and the surface is not marked
Formed stainless trays from a batch, checked before TIG welding and electropolishing.

What Can Change on Poultry Cage Feeder Tray Without New Tooling

Size, depth and rim profile are the decisions; the welding and surface treatment are what make it suitable for a poultry house.

FAQ on Poultry Cage Feeder Tray

Why are the internal corners radiused rather than square?

Because a square internal corner is a place feed and moisture collect and no brush reaches. On a part that has to be cleaned between batches, that is the difference between a cleanable tray and one that has to be replaced. The radius is a design decision taken before the blank is cut, not something that can be added at the welding bench.

What does electropolishing actually do?

It removes a thin layer of material from the whole surface, which takes off the weld heat tint and leaves the passive layer intact. Welding locally destroys that layer, and on a part that is washed and disinfected daily the tinted area is where corrosion and biofilm start. It is a corrosion treatment first and a cosmetic one second.

Why is the tolerance so tight on a feed tray?

Because the tray nests and fits into a cage system, and both are dimensional. At the tolerance this part is normally specified at, the pressing and the forming both have to be right; a tray that is a few tenths out either will not sit in the cage or will not stack with the others.

Cleanability and the welded corner are what make a feed tray suitable for a poultry house. Send the cage dimensions and the cleaning method through the RFQ form and the tray is made to suit. Related: TIG welding, surface finishing and material certification.

Payment Terms

How a project is paid for is agreed before production starts, and the structure that applies to your order is stated on the quotation and on the order confirmation, so there is no ambiguity later.

  • 30% advance payment with the order and the 70% balance before shipment — our standard structure.
  • 70% advance payment with the order and the 30% balance before shipment — used for some projects.
  • 100% payment in advance before production starts — used for some projects.

If your finance team works to a fixed structure, say so in the first enquiry and we will confirm what applies to your order before you commit. Request a quotation.

Questions buyers ask before sending drawings

The questions that come up most often before a project starts, answered the way we answer them by email.

What do you need from me to quote Poultry Cage Feeder Tray?

2D drawings as PDF, DWG or DXF, or 3D files as STEP, IGES or SolidWorks, together with material grade, sheet thickness, surface finish, quantity and destination country. If the drawing is not finished yet, send a photo, a sketch or the existing part instead — we review what can be measured from it and reply with the questions that still need answering.

How long does a quotation take?

Enquiries are answered within one business day. Simple laser-cut and bent parts are quoted within 24 hours. Welded frames, assembled units and multi-part structures are quoted after the drawing review and process confirmation, and the date is confirmed in our reply.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Prototypes are made from a single piece and small batches of 10–50 pieces are routine. Prototype, first batch and repeat volume are quoted together so the numbers stay consistent as the project scales.

Can you work from a sample or a photo if I have no drawing?

Yes. Send the part itself, clear photographs with a rule or caliper in frame, or a dimensioned sketch. We measure what can be measured, list what is still undefined, and confirm it with you before production.

Need a Similar Part?

Most enquiries that start on a page like this are not an order for Poultry Cage Feeder Tray — they are a search for a factory that can make something like it. Send us your drawing, 3D model or sample and we will review the manufacturing process and the quotation requirements, then come back with a process plan, a price and a lead time.

We work from 2D drawings, STEP / DWG / DXF / PDF files, or a physical sample if that is all you have.

Send your destination country, target delivery date and preferred trade term together with the drawing. Request a quotation.

Quotation Time

We quote from your drawings. How long that takes depends on what the part asks for:

  • Simple parts — quoted within 24 hours. Laser-cut blanks and bent components, supplied with complete 2D or 3D drawings. Mon–Fri, GMT+8.
  • Complex assemblies — quoted after the drawing review. Payment kiosks, multi-part welded frames, enclosures with purchased hardware, or anything needing a coating or assembly trial. We confirm a quotation date once the scope is clear.

Production lead time is quoted separately, after drawing review and process confirmation. Send your drawings.
