A heavy-duty utility cart is specified by its load figure, but it is judged by how it behaves at that load — whether it starts moving without a shove, tracks straight when pushed, and stops where the operator wants it to.
Reading the 300 kg Figure Properly
The cart on this page is built from Q235 with a 1.5–2.0 mm platform on a 30×30 mm square tube frame, carrying 300 kg evenly distributed, on two fixed and two braked swivel castors of Ø125–150 mm, with a 900 mm push handle. “Evenly distributed” is the operative phrase: 300 kg spread across an 840 × 480 mm platform is a different structural case from 300 kg standing on one corner, and the second is how carts actually get used.
Castor diameter is what makes a loaded cart start and roll. A larger castor crosses floor joints, cable covers and dock thresholds instead of stopping at them, which is the difference between a cart that is used and one that is avoided. The two-fixed, two-swivel arrangement is what makes it track: the fixed pair keeps it straight and the swivel pair steers it.
Decisions That Change a Utility Cart
- Platform surface — embossed anti-slip steel or a rubber mat. Embossed steel suits oily or wet loads; a mat suits parts that should not be scratched.
- Castor specification — diameter, tread material and brake arrangement, chosen against the floor and the route rather than against the load alone.
- Handle height and form — 900 mm suits most operators; where the cart is used by a mixed crew the height is worth confirming.
- Accessories — tool tray, side hooks, document holder. These are easier to include in the weldment than to add afterwards.
These are settled in DFM review before the first unit, and they cost nothing to change at that point.
How Load-Bearing Carts Are Checked
Inspection follows the buyer drawing and the approved sample. The checks that matter are frame squareness, platform flatness under load, castor mounting and brake function, and coating coverage. Where a load test is called up on the order, it is carried out to the stated figure and reported; the certification of a cart to a workplace lifting or handling scheme belongs to the buyer’s own safety process, not to the fabricator.
Packing is planned around the assembled size and the handling equipment at the destination; see export packaging standards. Samples are available at the stated fee, refundable against a bulk order — worth doing, because a cart can be loaded and pushed before thirty are built.
Will 300 kg be enough for my load?
Send the heaviest load and how it sits on the platform. If it concentrates toward one end or one corner, the frame detail changes rather than the rated figure.
Rubber mat or embossed platform?
Embossed steel for oily, wet or outdoor use; rubber mat where the load should not be marked. Both are available on this cart.

The platform size and load, the floor and route, the castor preference, the accessories, the colour, and the quantity. Timing is quoted after drawing review and process confirmation.
Payment Terms
How a project is paid for is agreed before production starts, and the structure that applies to your order is stated on the quotation and on the order confirmation, so there is no ambiguity later.
- 30% advance payment with the order and the 70% balance before shipment — our standard structure.
- 70% advance payment with the order and the 30% balance before shipment — used for some projects.
- 100% payment in advance before production starts — used for some projects.
If your finance team works to a fixed structure, say so in the first enquiry and we will confirm what applies to your order before you commit. Request a quotation.
Questions buyers ask before sending drawings
The questions that come up most often before a project starts, answered the way we answer them by email.
What do you need from me to quote Heavy-Duty Garage Utility Cart?
2D drawings as PDF, DWG or DXF, or 3D files as STEP, IGES or SolidWorks, together with material grade, sheet thickness, surface finish, quantity and destination country. If the drawing is not finished yet, send a photo, a sketch or the existing part instead — we review what can be measured from it and reply with the questions that still need answering.
How long does a quotation take?
Enquiries are answered within one business day. Simple laser-cut and bent parts are quoted within 24 hours. Welded frames, assembled units and multi-part structures are quoted after the drawing review and process confirmation, and the date is confirmed in our reply.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Prototypes are made from a single piece and small batches of 10–50 pieces are routine. Prototype, first batch and repeat volume are quoted together so the numbers stay consistent as the project scales.
Can you work from a sample or a photo if I have no drawing?
Yes. Send the part itself, clear photographs with a rule or caliper in frame, or a dimensioned sketch. We measure what can be measured, list what is still undefined, and confirm it with you before production.
Need a Similar Part?
Most enquiries that start on a page like this are not an order for Heavy-Duty Garage Utility Cart — they are a search for a factory that can make something like it. Send us your drawing, 3D model or sample and we will review the manufacturing process and the quotation requirements, then come back with a process plan, a price and a lead time.
We work from 2D drawings, STEP / DWG / DXF / PDF files, or a physical sample if that is all you have.
No complete drawings yet? Describe the part, send photos or a sketch, or send a sample — we can start from there. Discuss your project.
