How This Dairy Stall Loop Divider Is Fabricated and Checked
A free-stall loop divider is one bent tube doing two jobs: it sets the stall width the cow stands in, and it takes the push when she leans. The bend is the dimension that matters, and the fixing to the post is the load path.
| Stage | What happens | What is verified before the job moves on |
|---|---|---|
| Tube cutting | 50.8 mm round tube cut to length, with a heavier wall than a fence member | Cut length. The loop is formed from a single length, so the length error becomes a stall width error |
| Tube bending | The loop bent to the stall profile, with the bend radius and the leg spacing as designed | The distance between the legs of the loop, which is the clear stall width, measured on the first bend and used to set the run |
| Bend springback control | The bend setting compensated for the springback of the actual tube batch | Loop dimensions against the drawing, set by measured trial on the batch. Springback on a heavier wall is different from a fence tube and the old setting will not transfer |
| Mounting stub welding | The loop welded to its mounting stubs or brackets | Weld condition at the stub, which is where the cow’s push is transferred into the post |
| Drain and vent provision | Holes formed so the galvanising bath can enter and drain from the loop | That the loop drains. A bent tube is a curved closed section and it holds the bath if there is no way for it to run out |
| Hot-dip galvanising | The loop is dipped, drained and cooled | Zinc thickness and the drain condition, and the loop dimensions checked after dipping |
| Packing | Loops bundled with protection at the ends | That the loop ends are not deformed in the bundle, because those are what fit into the post brackets |

Adjusting Dairy Stall Loop Divider Without New Tooling
Stall width and mounting arrangement are the two inputs; the tube and the bend follow.
| What can be changed | What it affects | What it does not affect |
|---|---|---|
| Stall width and loop height | The bend radius, the leg spacing and the tube length | The wall thickness, provided the loop is not asked for a radius it cannot take |
| Loop shape: single or double bend | How the cow enters and lies, and how much the divider guides her | The mounting stubs |
| Mounting: stub welded to a post, or a bolted bracket | Whether the divider is installed on a new post or retrofitted | The loop geometry |
| Tube diameter and wall | Stiffness against a pushing cow, and the weight the installer handles | The galvanising process |
| Finish: galvanised as standard | Life in a washdown environment | Nothing structural |
| Bundling | How the loops are handled on site without deforming the ends | The loop |
Dairy Stall Loop Divider Questions, Answered
How is the stall width actually held?
By measuring the finished bend rather than trusting the setting. The loop is formed from a single length, and the distance between its legs is the stall width, so that dimension is checked on the first loop and the run continues on the compensated setting. A stall width that drifts across a barn is visible and expensive to correct.
What is the loop fixed to?
Normally a stub or bracket welded to the stall post, and the push from the cow goes into the post through that joint. That is why the stub weld is checked rather than left to a general weld specification, and why the fixing pattern is given on the drawing when the post is supplied by others.
Why is the wall thickness heavier than on a fence?
Because the loop is loaded by an animal leaning on a single member rather than by a distributed push on a frame. A heavier wall also survives the galvanising bath with less movement, which matters when the dimension the loop carries is the stall width.
The bend sets the stall and the stub weld takes the load. Send the stall width and the post arrangement through the RFQ form and the loop and its fixing are made to them. Related: tube bending, welding and surface finishing.
Payment Terms
How a project is paid for is agreed before production starts, and the structure that applies to your order is stated on the quotation and on the order confirmation, so there is no ambiguity later.
- 30% advance payment with the order and the 70% balance before shipment — our standard structure.
- 70% advance payment with the order and the 30% balance before shipment — used for some projects.
- 100% payment in advance before production starts — used for some projects.
If your finance team works to a fixed structure, say so in the first enquiry and we will confirm what applies to your order before you commit. Request a quotation.
Questions buyers ask before sending drawings
The questions that come up most often before a project starts, answered the way we answer them by email.
What do you need from me to quote Dairy Stall Loop Divider?
2D drawings as PDF, DWG or DXF, or 3D files as STEP, IGES or SolidWorks, together with material grade, sheet thickness, surface finish, quantity and destination country. If the drawing is not finished yet, send a photo, a sketch or the existing part instead — we review what can be measured from it and reply with the questions that still need answering.
How long does a quotation take?
Enquiries are answered within one business day. Simple laser-cut and bent parts are quoted within 24 hours. Welded frames, assembled units and multi-part structures are quoted after the drawing review and process confirmation, and the date is confirmed in our reply.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Prototypes are made from a single piece and small batches of 10–50 pieces are routine. Prototype, first batch and repeat volume are quoted together so the numbers stay consistent as the project scales.
Can you work from a sample or a photo if I have no drawing?
Yes. Send the part itself, clear photographs with a rule or caliper in frame, or a dimensioned sketch. We measure what can be measured, list what is still undefined, and confirm it with you before production.
Need a Similar Part?
Most enquiries that start on a page like this are not an order for Dairy Stall Loop Divider — they are a search for a factory that can make something like it. Send us your drawing, 3D model or sample and we will review the manufacturing process and the quotation requirements, then come back with a process plan, a price and a lead time.
We work from 2D drawings, STEP / DWG / DXF / PDF files, or a physical sample if that is all you have.
No complete drawings yet? Describe the part, send photos or a sketch, or send a sample — we can start from there. Discuss your project.

Quotation Time
We quote from your drawings. How long that takes depends on what the part asks for:
- Simple parts — quoted within 24 hours. Laser-cut blanks and bent components, supplied with complete 2D or 3D drawings. Mon–Fri, GMT+8.
- Complex assemblies — quoted after the drawing review. Payment kiosks, multi-part welded frames, enclosures with purchased hardware, or anything needing a coating or assembly trial. We confirm a quotation date once the scope is clear.
Production lead time is quoted separately, after drawing review and process confirmation. Send your drawings.
