How This Veterinary Surgery Table Is Fabricated and Checked

A surgery table is a cleanability product. The load rating matters, but the requirement that decides the design is that there is nowhere on the surface where fluid or tissue can sit and be missed by a wash.

StageWhat happensWhat is verified before the job moves on
Top formingTable top laser cut and formed from SUS304, with radiused corners and a formed edgeCorner radii and the edge form. A tight internal corner is a place that cannot be cleaned, so the radius is a hygiene requirement rather than a forming convenience
Drainage and edge detailThe top edge formed to contain or to drain, as the design requiresThat fluid goes where the design intends. A top that is meant to drain but has a flat spot holds a pool at exactly the wrong place
Underframe fabricationThe frame under the top cut, bent and weldedFrame squareness and the fixing pattern between the top and the frame, since that is where the load transfers
Height adjustment interfaceProvision made for the height mechanism at its interface with the frameThe interface dimensions. Where the mechanism is supplied by others, the frame is made to its interface rather than to a nominal height
TIG welding and dressingTop and frame welds TIG welded and dressedWeld continuity and a smooth dressed finish on every face that is washed, because a rough bead is a crevice
ElectropolishingThe stainless surfaces are electropolished after weldingSurface condition and the removal of weld heat tint, which is both a corrosion site and a place that holds soil
Load and function checkThe table loaded to its rating, and the adjustment range worked where it is in scopeThat the top does not deflect permanently at the rated load and everything that moves still moves
PackingSurfaces protected, with the frame braced for transportThat the polished top arrives unmarked, since a marked stainless surface cannot be touched up like a painted one
Stainless issued to the job against its mill certificate. On a sanitary part the material record is part of the product.

Veterinary Surgery Table: Common Buyer Questions

Why electropolish rather than simply weld and clean?

Because welding removes the passive layer and leaves a heat tint, and both are places where corrosion starts and soil collects. Electropolishing removes a thin layer across the whole surface, taking the tint with it and leaving the passive layer intact. On a surface that is washed between every procedure, that is the difference between cleanable and apparently clean.

Why does the top have radiused corners?

Because a square internal corner cannot be cleaned properly – a brush does not reach into it and fluid sits there. The radius is set at the forming stage, so it is a design decision rather than something the welder can add. It is also the reason a stainless top is formed rather than fabricated from flat plates.

Is the height mechanism included?

That depends on the project. Where the mechanism is supplied by others, we make the frame and the mounting provision to its interface, so give us the mechanism drawing and the range required. Where the full assembly is in our scope, the range is designed into the frame and tested before dispatch.

Cleanability and the load case are what a surgery table is judged on. Send the working size, the height range and the mechanism interface through the RFQ form and the frame is built to them. Related: surface finishing, TIG welding and material certification.

Electropolishing Removes Metal, So the Drawing Has to Allow for It

Electropolishing is an electrochemical process that takes metal off the surface, and it takes it off everywhere the electrolyte reaches – including on dimensions that matter. On a surgery table that shows up at the fits: a hole that was on size before polishing is slightly larger after, a threaded feature is slightly looser, and a sliding surface has a different clearance. The removal is small and controlled, but “small” only means safe if the drawing says which dimensions are critical and who checks them at the end.

  • Critical fits should be identified on the drawing so they can be final-machined or verified after the surface treatment, not assumed to have survived it.
  • Internal corners and crevices polish less than open surfaces, which is why the weld layout matters as much as the finish specification.
  • The finish is what makes the table cleanable. A polished surface with a crevice behind it is worse than an unpolished surface that can actually be washed.

A Surgery Table Is Cleaned Far More Often Than It Is Loaded

The load case for a large-animal surgery table is real but it is not what wears the table out. Daily washing with disinfectant is. Stainless steel resists corrosion through a passive surface layer, and chloride-containing cleaners attack that layer – which is why a 304 table that is cleaned with the wrong product pits, and pitting starts in exactly the places you cannot rinse properly. Welds are those places. A weld that is not fully penetrated leaves a crevice on the back side, and that crevice holds residue.

We build these tables with continuous welds that are dressed flush, radiused corners instead of sharp internal angles, and a drainage tray that actually slopes to its outlet – meaning the tray has a designated low point and the table has to be installed level for it to work. If you use a specific cleaning agent, tell us at quote stage; it is a legitimate input to the grade and finish decision. Lead time is quoted after drawing review and process confirmation.

Payment Terms

How a project is paid for is agreed before production starts, and the structure that applies to your order is stated on the quotation and on the order confirmation, so there is no ambiguity later.

  • 30% advance payment with the order and the 70% balance before shipment — our standard structure.
  • 70% advance payment with the order and the 30% balance before shipment — used for some projects.
  • 100% payment in advance before production starts — used for some projects.

If your finance team works to a fixed structure, say so in the first enquiry and we will confirm what applies to your order before you commit. Request a quotation.

Questions buyers ask before sending drawings

The questions that come up most often before a project starts, answered the way we answer them by email.

What do you need from me to quote Veterinary Surgery Table?

2D drawings as PDF, DWG or DXF, or 3D files as STEP, IGES or SolidWorks, together with material grade, sheet thickness, surface finish, quantity and destination country. If the drawing is not finished yet, send a photo, a sketch or the existing part instead — we review what can be measured from it and reply with the questions that still need answering.

How long does a quotation take?

Enquiries are answered within one business day. Simple laser-cut and bent parts are quoted within 24 hours. Welded frames, assembled units and multi-part structures are quoted after the drawing review and process confirmation, and the date is confirmed in our reply.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Prototypes are made from a single piece and small batches of 10–50 pieces are routine. Prototype, first batch and repeat volume are quoted together so the numbers stay consistent as the project scales.

Can you work from a sample or a photo if I have no drawing?

Yes. Send the part itself, clear photographs with a rule or caliper in frame, or a dimensioned sketch. We measure what can be measured, list what is still undefined, and confirm it with you before production.

Need a Similar Part?

Most enquiries that start on a page like this are not an order for Veterinary Surgery Table — they are a search for a factory that can make something like it. Send us your drawing, 3D model or sample and we will review the manufacturing process and the quotation requirements, then come back with a process plan, a price and a lead time.

We work from 2D drawings, STEP / DWG / DXF / PDF files, or a physical sample if that is all you have.

Trade Terms and Delivery

We quote under the standard Incoterms your logistics team already works with, and build the packing and documentation around the one you choose.

  • EXW — you collect from our Ningbo facility and run export clearance through your own forwarder.
  • FOB Ningbo — we deliver to the vessel at Ningbo port and handle export clearance.
  • CIF — we cover carriage and insurance to your named destination port.
  • DDP — we handle carriage, insurance, import clearance and duties through to your door.

Send your destination country, target delivery date and preferred trade term together with the drawing. Request a quotation.

Quotation Time

We quote from your drawings. How long that takes depends on what the part asks for:

  • Simple parts — quoted within 24 hours. Laser-cut blanks and bent components, supplied with complete 2D or 3D drawings. Mon–Fri, GMT+8.
  • Complex assemblies — quoted after the drawing review. Payment kiosks, multi-part welded frames, enclosures with purchased hardware, or anything needing a coating or assembly trial. We confirm a quotation date once the scope is clear.

Production lead time is quoted separately, after drawing review and process confirmation. Send your drawings.
