Where Tolerance Is Actually Won or Lost
Precision in sheet metal is rarely decided by the cutting machine. A laser holds its own accuracy easily; what moves a finished part out of tolerance is bending — springback, the order bends are made in, and how the part is held while it is formed.
So we treat tolerance as a forming problem. Bend allowance, bend sequence and tooling are set per material and thickness, and the first part is measured before the run continues. Where a dimension is genuinely critical, we ask whether it can be controlled by a feature the tooling locates on rather than by a free edge.
Material matters here too: the same nominal thickness in SPCC, SUS304 and 5052 aluminium bends differently, and springback compensation is not the same across them.
Cutting, Bending and Checking on One Route
Blanks are laser cut from DXF, DWG or STEP files. Flat patterns are checked for closed contours and for hole sizes that are practical for the material thickness before cutting starts.
Bending runs on CNC press brakes with tooling and sequence set for the material. Parts needing several bends are planned so the part can still be held at each stage — a sequence that works on screen can be impossible to hold in reality.
Welding, hardware insertion and deburring follow as the drawing requires. Dimensional checks happen where they matter: after forming, not only after cutting.
How Tolerance Is Verified After Forming
Dimensions marked critical on the drawing are measured on the first part after forming, using the inspection method the drawing specifies. Checks continue through the run, because tooling and material variation appear over a batch rather than all at once.
Fit is checked where parts assemble to other components, since a dimension can be in tolerance and still not assemble if the datum is wrong.
Incoming material checks, first-article inspection, in-process dimensional checks and final inspection photos or reports can be provided. Mark which dimensions are critical on the drawing — otherwise every dimension is treated as reference.
Parts That Come Through Precision Fabrication
- Brackets, mounts and frames with fitted hole patterns
- Enclosures and covers with formed flanges
- Panels that assemble into larger structures
- Parts with hardware inserted after forming
- Prototype parts made before tooling is justified
What Speeds Up a Precision Quote
- 2D drawing with tolerances marked, and 3D model if available
- Material and thickness, including temper for aluminium
- Which dimensions are critical, and where the datum is
- Whether parts assemble to other components
- Quantity, finish and destination
Precision Fabrication Questions
Can you hold the tolerance on our drawing?
Send the drawing. Tolerance is confirmed against material and thickness, since springback differs between SPCC, stainless and aluminium.
Why does a cut part measure right but not fit after bending?
Usually bend allowance or bend sequence. That is why critical dimensions are checked after forming, not only after cutting.
Can you insert hardware?
Yes, when it is specified on the drawing so it is included in the route and the quotation.
Can you work from a STEP file?
Yes. STEP, DWG, DXF, PDF and SolidWorks files are accepted.

Trade Terms and Delivery
We quote under the standard Incoterms your logistics team already works with, and build the packing and documentation around the one you choose.
- EXW — you collect from our Ningbo facility and run export clearance through your own forwarder.
- FOB Ningbo — we deliver to the vessel at Ningbo port and handle export clearance.
- CIF — we cover carriage and insurance to your named destination port.
- DDP — we handle carriage, insurance, import clearance and duties through to your door.
Send your destination country, target delivery date and preferred trade term together with the drawing. Request a quotation.
Payment Terms
How a project is paid for is agreed before production starts, and the structure that applies to your order is stated on the quotation and on the order confirmation, so there is no ambiguity later.
- 30% advance payment with the order and the 70% balance before shipment — our standard structure.
- 70% advance payment with the order and the 30% balance before shipment — used for some projects.
- 100% payment in advance before production starts — used for some projects.
If your finance team works to a fixed structure, say so in the first enquiry and we will confirm what applies to your order before you commit. Request a quotation.
Quotation Time
We quote from your drawings. How long that takes depends on what the part asks for:
- Simple parts — quoted within 24 hours. Laser-cut blanks and bent components, supplied with complete 2D or 3D drawings. Mon–Fri, GMT+8.
- Complex assemblies — quoted after the drawing review. Payment kiosks, multi-part welded frames, enclosures with purchased hardware, or anything needing a coating or assembly trial. We confirm a quotation date once the scope is clear.
Production lead time is quoted separately, after drawing review and process confirmation. Send your drawings.
