A pool heat pump enclosure lives in the worst combination available to sheet metal: warm, permanently humid, and carrying chlorine or salt. The material and the finish decide its life; the ventilation decides whether the unit inside performs.

Why Poolside Is a Different Corrosion Case

The enclosure on this page is SUS304 stainless or ZM275 zinc-magnesium coated steel, laser cut, CNC bent, TIG welded and passivated, rated IP54 / IK08, with dual-side louvres and IP-rated cable glands. Pool plant rooms and poolside installations carry chlorinated or saline aerosol continuously, and they are warm, which accelerates every corrosion mechanism. A coating that performs well on a facade will not necessarily survive there.

SUS304 is the usual answer, and passivation after welding is not optional in this environment — the heat-affected zone beside a weld is where staining starts if the oxide layer is not restored. ZM275 coated steel is the alternative where cost governs and the location is less aggressive; the cut edges are the detail that decides whether it works, since that is where the coating is thinnest.

Ventilation, Airflow and the Salt-Spray Figure

Airflow is a performance requirement, not a comfort one: a heat pump that cannot move air loses capacity and works harder. Dual-side louvres give a cross-flow path, and the louvre area has to follow the unit’s airflow rather than a standard panel. Insect mesh is available where the installation is outdoors, and it reduces open area — which has to be allowed for in the louvre sizing, not discovered afterwards.

Where corrosion resistance is specified to ASTM B117 at 1,000 hours, that figure is the specification for the material and finish system. Salt-spray testing to the specified duration is carried out when it is called up on the order, and the report is issued with the batch. Any CE marking of the finished heat pump is the responsibility of the equipment manufacturer; our scope is the enclosure as drawn.

How Poolside Enclosures Are Built and Checked

Laser cutting, CNC bending, TIG welding, passivation. The recurring risks are weld distortion on large flat panels, and the condition of the weld line on a part that will be visible in a customer-facing location. Fixtures hold the panels through welding, and the finish is applied to a prepared surface.

Inspection follows the buyer drawing and approved sample: dimensions, louvre and gland fitting, IP-rated entry condition, weld finish and coating or passivation quality. Our enclosure inspection checklist sets out what is checked. Samples are available at the stated fee, refundable against a bulk order — worth doing here, because a first unit can be installed poolside and observed before a batch is committed.

Stainless or ZM275?

SUS304 for poolside, coastal or saline installations. ZM275 for sheltered plant rooms where the budget governs. Tell us the location and, if it is a salt-water pool, say so explicitly.

Does the insect mesh affect performance?

Yes — it reduces open area, so the louvre sizing has to allow for it. Specify the mesh at drawing stage and the airflow is calculated with it included.

What to Send for Pool Heat Pump Enclosure Pricing

The unit dimensions and airflow, the installation location, the material preference, the cable entry arrangement, and the quantity. Timing is quoted after drawing review and process confirmation.

Payment Terms

How a project is paid for is agreed before production starts, and the structure that applies to your order is stated on the quotation and on the order confirmation, so there is no ambiguity later.

  • 30% advance payment with the order and the 70% balance before shipment — our standard structure.
  • 70% advance payment with the order and the 30% balance before shipment — used for some projects.
  • 100% payment in advance before production starts — used for some projects.

If your finance team works to a fixed structure, say so in the first enquiry and we will confirm what applies to your order before you commit. Request a quotation.

Questions buyers ask before sending drawings

The questions that come up most often before a project starts, answered the way we answer them by email.

What do you need from me to quote Pool Heat Pump Enclosure?

2D drawings as PDF, DWG or DXF, or 3D files as STEP, IGES or SolidWorks, together with material grade, sheet thickness, surface finish, quantity and destination country. If the drawing is not finished yet, send a photo, a sketch or the existing part instead — we review what can be measured from it and reply with the questions that still need answering.

How long does a quotation take?

Enquiries are answered within one business day. Simple laser-cut and bent parts are quoted within 24 hours. Welded frames, assembled units and multi-part structures are quoted after the drawing review and process confirmation, and the date is confirmed in our reply.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Prototypes are made from a single piece and small batches of 10–50 pieces are routine. Prototype, first batch and repeat volume are quoted together so the numbers stay consistent as the project scales.

Can you work from a sample or a photo if I have no drawing?

Yes. Send the part itself, clear photographs with a rule or caliper in frame, or a dimensioned sketch. We measure what can be measured, list what is still undefined, and confirm it with you before production.

Send Your Drawings

Need a Similar Part?

Most enquiries that start on a page like this are not an order for Pool Heat Pump Enclosure — they are a search for a factory that can make something like it. Send us your drawing, 3D model or sample and we will review the manufacturing process and the quotation requirements, then come back with a process plan, a price and a lead time.

We work from 2D drawings, STEP / DWG / DXF / PDF files, or a physical sample if that is all you have.

Send your destination country, target delivery date and preferred trade term together with the drawing. Request a quotation.

Quotation Time

We quote from your drawings. How long that takes depends on what the part asks for:

  • Simple parts — quoted within 24 hours. Laser-cut blanks and bent components, supplied with complete 2D or 3D drawings. Mon–Fri, GMT+8.
  • Complex assemblies — quoted after the drawing review. Payment kiosks, multi-part welded frames, enclosures with purchased hardware, or anything needing a coating or assembly trial. We confirm a quotation date once the scope is clear.

Production lead time is quoted separately, after drawing review and process confirmation. Send your drawings.
