Small utility vehicles used on farms are built to a different set of priorities from road vehicles, and the parts reflect that. Load capacity and low cost matter more than weight and refinement, the vehicle is used on surfaces that were never designed as roads, and it is maintained by the person who uses it. The components that come through a fabrication route are the cargo beds, the frame brackets and the guards, and on all of them the recurring question is where the load actually goes. A cargo bed is loaded unevenly and then tipped, so the hinge and the pivot take a load that a static drawing does not show. A guard is expected to be removed for maintenance, so its fixings have to be reachable with the bed in place and have to survive being taken off and put back repeatedly without stripping.
