Sheet metal materials

Working environment
If the sheet metal project is in a corrosive environment such as humidity, acid, and alkali, rivets with good corrosion resistance should be selected, such as stainless steel or rivets with special surface treatment (such as galvanizing or nickel plating). Sheet metal parts working in high-temperature environments need to choose high-temperature resistant rivet materials, such as high-temperature alloy rivets.
Size
State-of-the-art fabrication processes to optimize speed and accuracy
Diameter: The rivet diameter should be determined according to the thickness of the sheet metal and the connection strength requirements. Generally speaking, the thicker the sheet metal, the larger the rivet diameter required. Usually, the rivet diameter should be slightly larger than 1.5 times the thickness of the sheet metal to ensure sufficient connection strength. For example, for a 2mm thick sheet metal, a rivet with a diameter of 3-4mm can be selected.
Length: The rivet length should ensure that the rivet hole can be completely filled after riveting and that a suitable riveting shape. Its length is generally the thickness of the sheet metal plus the length of the rivet head. The rivet head length is usually 1.5 – 2 times the rivet diameter. For example, for a 3mm thick sheet metal, a 4mm diameter rivet is used, and its length should be about 3 + (4×1.5) = 9mm.
